Right Now

Hearing.....the rhythmic snore of a sleeping kitty, over the rattle of blocks and a little boy humming the Star Wars tune upstairs.

Feeling...a slight draft from the window behind me.

Sipping...a cup of tea

Smelling....nothing as I simply strain to breathe through my nose today, but I AM breathing.

Wondering....what I will prepare for dinner in roughly two hours.

Loving........a certain little sewing machine sitting downstairs...I can love an inanimate object REALLY!

Longing.....for a bit of time with my husband, kid free, and perhaps involving some good tunes, a tasty meal (not made by me) and plenty of wine...... 

Knowing....how lucky I am and how grateful I should be every day...

Delighting.....in some snow and a bit of quiet this nap time!

Right Now......

A little reflection and a cup of tea just do wonders for any day, don't you think?

Right now  I am.....

hearing....a welcomed silence, except for the unwelcome mouse in my ceiling.

fearing....there may be many more mice with him.

sipping......Tazo green tea, my new friend.

feeling......proud that my bread and bagels actually turned out!

longing.....for a visit with an old friend, and meeting her new Maisie!

awaiting...this amazing quilt class this weekend!

needing...to find cut scraps for the class.

wondering...if I will have the energy to do so after the kids are finally down for the night.

Ten Things I am Loving Right Now.....

1.  These cute little hedgehogs I found recently.

 

2.  My new favorite book.

3.  How any small and large inanimate objects become "Mama" and "Baby" through my daughter's eyes.

4.  The little fairies who are now inhabiting our home.

5.  Having my camera back after leaving it in my son's classroom over the weekend!

6.  My new wrinkles which I am choosing to embrace instead of despising.  (I guess this is the confidence that arrives after 36?)

7.  Tea in the afternoon with my kids.

 

8.  These cozy warm socks I have been waiting to break out!

 

9.  These gorgeous farm fresh eggs that were delivered to my door by a friend.

 

10.  These eyes..... 

and.....this face which continually melt my heart.

 

What are you loving right now?

RIght Now

I am feeling very proud of myself that I was able to actually drag myself out of bed before everyone this morning, just to get a little time of peace and solitude.  My OSC (only child syndrome) tends to kick in every now and then (more often, I think my husband might admit) and I must have my space, or I am a beast to be around.  This morning, rather than sitting still, I have decided to share some thoughts with you.  Inspired by Soulemama, here is my own "right now".

Right now I am....

drinking....    my first cup of coffee with velvety cream

feeling...        wool socks on my feet for the first time this season

listening...     to the distant sound of commuters on the highway and my husband's yawns of refusal for the day to begin

enjoying....    this wonderful book which is somehow assuring me that my parenting is on track

looking....     into the dark morning

loving....       the fact that my son cannot decide between being Robinhood of a pixie king for Halloween

wishing...    I could truly grasp each moment for what it all really is...an amazing gift!

Ten Things

The way the world seems to be going lately, I am trying to hyper focus on the positives in my life.  Turns out, there is quite a bit to appreciate.  Here are just a few today....

Ten things I am thankful for.....

1.  The time I have to sit and actually ponder what I am thankful for...

2.  My daughter's obsession with sparkly red shoes or anything red really...who wouldn't be, right?

           

3.  Visits with special people whose coziness and spunk keep me optimistic about life.

                        

4.  Cloudy, brisk days that allow me to stay inside and enjoy a small cup of tea.

            

5.  The extra ten bucks I found in my winter jacket pocket yesterday!

6.  The colors of Autumn, and my little maple who has just turned within the last two days.

7.  This corner which keeps my children busy and my house tidy!

           

8.  My new embroidery project.

9.  How a normal everyday breakfast in our home includes people breaking out in song, as if the stars of a Broadway musical.....

10.  Sleepy feet coming down the stairs for breakfast.
