You may have seen this earlier. It is finally finished and framed, ready for my little girl's wall. I must admit, I had it in my sewing room for a bit. Lots of imperfections on this litte project, but I enjoyed it. The pattern is from a Japanese craft book. I did the embroidery on linen, and then did a bit of patchwork from reproduction 1930's fabric I bought while on vacation in Vermont last summer (oh, and had to add the rick rack, of course!). The embroidery was done in the car, on our way up north. A delightful vacation and a nice little project to remember it by. Too bad it took me MONTHS to actually finish it!!!!! I have Goldilocks and Snow White ones underway. Perhaps they'll be finished before next winter?

The Rush

Is anyone else rushing?  I am frantically trying to get my house ready for guests, and finish far too many projects within the next 36 hours.  I am indeed, overly ambitious.  Setting myself up for some sort of failure I fear....In the meantime, I am enjoying the children's excitement, my husband's help and plenty of Christmas music.  Oh, and completely procrastinating by posting this now.  I just wanted to show SOMETHING for all of the recent labor!!!  Here is a little pillow I have made for Granny.  G did the drawing a while ago.  I think it is sweet.  I had originally thought of all wall hanging, but after viewing Jess's over here, I decided the pillow was the way to go.

G wanted me to use the "golden" thread, so I went with his choice.  I would have used red or blue, but I like how it turned out.

Hopefully within the next few days I will have more to show, and will have not completely given up on handmade for Christmas!!!!!  Next year I am starting in the summer!!!!!!!  (ha ha ha, yeah right!)
